The 35th Annual General Meeting of the Conference of Yacht Cruising Clubs will
be held on Thursday 12 January 2006 at the Naval Club 38 Hill Street,
Mayfair, London W1J 5NS, from 1000 to 1530. Clive Scott (CCC) will take the
chair. Agenda items should be sent please to the Hon.Sec at CofYCC@aol.com.
Captain Duncan Glass, Director of Navigational Requirements at Trinity House,
will lead our afternoon discussion about the plans of the General Lighthouse
Authorities in the coming decade and the evolution of visual and electronic
aids to navigation.
Stuart Carruthers, manager of RYA Cruising since early 2005, will take part
in our discussions on issues affecting cruising yachtsmen and give his perception
of his role within the RYA on behalf of leisure sailors under sail and power.
In addition, the Royal Institute of Navigation will be represented by Alan Cherry,
chairman of the RIN's Small Craft Group, and Frank Singleton will return to
discuss developments in broadcast marine weather forecasting since our debate
last January.
