By the Merchant Shipping (Light Dues) (Amendment) Regulations 2004, which come into force on 1st April 2004, the rate of light dues on pleasure vessels over 20 tons remains unchanged at £77 pa. The voyage charge for commercial vessels is reduced by 1p per ton from 40p to 39p per ton, subject to a cap of £13, 650 per voyage, reduced from £16,000.
