The Martime and Coastguard Agency is considering the production of a UK MMSI Directory. If you are have a DSC VHF set (or might have in future) the MCA would like to hear from you. There is an on-line questionnaire.
The questionnaire makes reference to the MARS database. The International
Telecommunication Union publishes a searchable
database under the title of Maritime Mobile Access and Retrieval System
(MARS). This allows you to discover a ship's MMSI if you know the ship's name
or callsign.
