Niton NAVTEX service

Changes will be made to the NITON NAVTEX service on 518kHz wef 1200 UTC on Tuesday 17th September 2002.

The following NAVAREA ONE Notice has been issued re the above changes:

At 171200Z Sep 02, Niton (GNI) NAVTEX broadcasts will change as follows:

a. The transmission identification character (B1) will change to 'E'.

b. Transmission timings (UTC) will be 0040, 0440, 0840, 1240, 1640, 2040.
c. Coastal navigational warning broadcasts will continue on all transmissions.
d. Relevant NAVAREA ONE warnings and SUB/GUNFACTS will be transimitted at 0440 and 1640.
e. The 24-hour Shipping Forecast will be transmitted at 0840 and 2040, and the Extended Outlook at 0040.
f. All relevant 'in force warnings' will be repromulgated at the time of the change with new transmission identifier character and existing NAVTEX sequence.
