RYA Council Elections 2008

Ballot papers for the forthcoming RYA Council elections have been distributed by post. Two of the 10 candidates standing for election to the RYA Council are members of CYCC clubs. They are Nichola Lane of RNSA and Colin Barry of RCC and RNSA. Nichola Lane is an enthusiast for cruising in motorboats, and Colin Barry is an experienced cruising yachtsman. No fewer than seven of the ten candidates list yacht cruising as one of their main boating interests, and of the remainder one lists offshore cruising in diesel RIBs.

Personal and Life members of the RYA may vote for up to five candidates in the election to the RYA Council. It is a postal ballot and voting slips have to arrive not later than 1530 on Friday 21 November 2008.

I urge all members of CYCC clubs who are eligible to vote in the RYA Council Election to send in a Ballot Paper. Please will CYCC clubs bring this message to the attention of those who control communications within their clubs to encourage Club members to vote.
