WMO Survey

The World Meterological Organisation (WMO) is conducting a survey into the effectiveness of the weather and sea bulletins broadcast by Meterological Services. The deadline for repsonses was 31 December 2011, but the UKHO has sought an extension for responses until late January.

There is a website www.jcomm.info/MMMS where the survey questionnaire can be answered on-line or a paper version downloaded. The survey includes vessels used for recreation, and the Secretary General of the WMO mentions yacht clubs among the targeted group to whom the survey is addressed.

Please respond to WMO if you think it appropriate, and forward news of the survey to any yacht club to which you have an affiliation.
